Once you wrap your head around it, cranking up the ol’ homeschooling schedule is exciting! I’m pleased to say that we don’t have to miss out on the fun of a “first day” of back-to-school just because we educate at home!
There are many fantastic ways to celebrate this special day and they don’t all involve spending extra money. Serve cinnamon-sugar toast for breakfast around the coffee table or if the weather’s nice enough you could spread a blanket outside and dine there. Even something as simple as a special little note taped (or written in dry-erase marker) on the bathroom mirror can help your kids feel that there is something special about the day!
The most important thing is to think outside the box, and remember – you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make something feel special. Your kids will remember these first days for years to come!
