Before STEM was a “thing”, we have loved games and educational toys that fit this category. My kids all love to work with their hands and build things. A couple of them are definitely engineers in the making. I have one that is big into science and experiments. I have a couple that are really good in math and love anything to do with logic. So, finding a game that works for all of them can be tricky, but we have found a few that work.
While we love to play games, I am not opposed to toys that are also educational. We try to limit the number of toys our children have, notice I said *try*, but if they are both fun and educational its hard to say no.

Backyard Safari Cargo Vest – My oldest wore this until he outgrew it and then had my Mom make him a new one!
Snap Circuits Jr. – My oldest got this for Christmas about 3 years ago and they still pull it out to play!
The Magic School Bus: Microscope Lab – My second son got this last year for Christmas and has loved it. Such a great starting kit.
