We lean towards a Charlotte Mason method in our homeschool which means that we like to incorporate lots of poetry into our school time. There are many ways to do poetry study, my favorite way is by reading lots and lots of good poetry. You can choose to study a specific poet, or you can do a poetry study based on a specific theme.
I like to study themed poetry around the holidays and different seasons. This also works great if you are doing seasonal nature study as well. Many seasonal poems speak greatly of the nature around them.
