I took the kids to the library yesterday and found myself having to explain to them how to find a book on cats. I thought we had covered the Dewey Decimal System already, but apparently they need a refresher course. (Can I just insert right here how thankful I am for the privilege to homeschool my kids? Not every day is roses and unicorns, but I do love the opportunity to open the doors of learning for my children. It is a pleasure to learn and guide them. And I have to say that I love field trips!)
If your kids need an intro or refresher on Library Skills, they’ll enjoy this free, printable pack! It covers information such as the Dewey Decimal System and how to use it, how fiction and non-fiction books are organized, common library rules, and even some fun activities!
