I love making my own bath and body products for my home. Not only is it safer and healthier, it’s extremely frugal and really fun to make.
We make all of our own cleaning products, including laundry soap. As I was researching healthier alternatives to bath and body products I came across castile soap. This soap is safe for your body, no yucky chemicals, and it works great as an alternative to the expensive foaming hand soaps. We have been using this homemade foaming hand soap for about 3 years now and it works great.
My girls love helping me create things in the kitchen. Making our own hand soap is one of their favorite things to help me make. It is super easy, and one of those fun instant gratification products to make. I wanted to share our recipe with you and exactly how to make this awesome soap.
My Favorite DIY Foaming Hand Soap Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 foaming hand pump – I have saved my old store bought foaming hand soaps over the years
- 2 tbsps. Castile Soap (the 32 oz. bottles are a better value) – My absolute favorite scent is the Almond Hemp. It smells heavenly! There are so many different kinds you can use. Peppermint is nice and tingly.
- water
- 10 – 15 drops of essential oil – the sky is the limit with what oils you use. I prefer the Germ Fighter oil from Plant Therapy. It is a thieves blend type of oil and great for killing germs.
One 32 oz. bottle of castile soap has 64 tablespoons of liquid in it. That means that it will make 32 bottles of foaming hand soap! Now that’s a GREAT value!
Directions:
- Pour Castile soap into empty bottle.
- Fill with water about 1 inch from the top of the bottle.
- Add essential oils
- Shake gently to mix ingredients.
One pump is all you need! This soap is great! As you can see in the photo it makes ALOT of foam! It actually ended up on the counter as well.
I like to purchase all of my ingredients online. It’s so much easier to just have everything shipped to my home.
