I know it is extremely hot right now all over the country, but there is just something about summer time that makes my kids want to go outside and play.
Since it is so hot out my kids will last outside for about 10 minutes before they want to come back inside. The constant running in and out and letting bugs in drives me crazy! I have been searching for some fun ideas for them to do outside that will also keep them cool.
Check out these fun outdoor water play ideas:
Use sponges to create a Water Fight Kit from Inner Child Fun
Build and play when you Create a Water Balloon Launcher from Frugal Fun 4 Boys
Play a game of Kiddie Pool Kick Ball from Let’s Get Together
Create a pouring station for toddlers from Busy Toddler
Play a Fill the Bucket Water Game from The Resourceful Mama
Make a “Redneck” Slip N Slide! We had some friends over one day in the heat of summer. My husband bought the biggest tarp he could find and we turned the water hose on it. We also added dish soap to make it slippery and of course the teens ended up with shaving cream. It was a great day of messy fun and everyone was hosed off with the water hose at the end of the day!
The Backyard Challenge from Not Consumed is a free printable pack that is chock full of some awesome backyard summer challenges to help get your kids out of the house and moving!
