One of my favorite things in the whole world is fireflies. I had read about them in school growing up, but had never seen one until I was in college. Visiting Ohio with a friend, we were driving down an old country road one Sunday evening when I let out a gasp big enough to send the car swerving. I couldn’t believe it – as I looked out the car window, I saw a beautiful field of Queen Anne’s Lace. And fireflies. Be still my heart! I thought I was dreaming. They are just magical!
Here we are in the heart of summer, and I found this free, printable Firefly Coloring Sheet. Scripture, a mason jar, and fireflies…could it get any better? It would make a lovely activity in the shade of a cool house in the blistering heat of a hot afternoon. Spending time with the kids, coloring, and talking about what the Bible verse means…a little piece of heaven on earth.
