I used to keep such a tidy home. That was before homeschooling and before my kids reached counter height. Those of you with toddlers think you’ve got it so tough trying to keep the blocks put up in the bins. Just wait until your kids are tall enough and mobile enough to make a mess on every surface in the house!
Honestly, I think keeping the house clean is a challenge for homeschoolers because – hello! – we’re home all day! And it’s not like we’re sitting around doing nothing. You know as well as I do that each day we are busy teaching, grading, printing free printables, refereeing, cuddling, running the kids to co-ops and field trips, heating up leftovers for lunch, doing dishes, and more. And that’s all before 3 pm!
Think about it: more people are around your home living, breathing, loving, learning. It’s a blessing and a privilege to care for our family, but sometimes it’s hard to work in house cleaning. I ask myself, “Do I want clean laundry or clean baseboards?” The struggle is real.
Don’t get all weepy on me, but I present to you “a fool-proof schedule for busy home-keepers.”
