As much as my four year old loves to do crafts, it is not really something that I am into, or that I feel capable of. My idea of “craft time” is crayons and paper, LOL. I am very blessed to have a local homeschooling mom who lives about 2 miles away who twice per month hosts a preschool craft day. Yay for crafty moms who want to share their talents {wink!}
Today one of the crafts that we did was really fun and I thought it was worthy of sharing with you all.
Supplies Needed for this craft:
- Brown paper sack/lunch bag
- One sheet of any color construction paper
- Fall colored tissue paper, or sticker leaves (or if you are really crafty you can cut out your own leaves!)
What you do: Lay the bag out flat and cut strips about half way down (an inch or so thick.) Then you open it up, scrunch it down and gather in the middle under the strips (which are branches!) and twist it around to make a trunk. The bottom will be flat. Then you take each individual strip or “branch” and wrinkle it up a little bit and form them into branches. Glue the bottom to the construction paper and then you glue your “leaves” on and around the tree to show the “leaves falling.”
If you have older kids, they could make a whole landscape with more than one tree & make piles of leaves. You could also glue other things on the paper. How fun! OMGosh, I am starting to feel crafty, LOL.

Another really cool looking craft. Makes me wish I had a crafty bone in my body. This one is from Happy Hooligans! How do people come up with this creative stuff?
