“We are all meant to be naturalists, each in his own degree, and it is inexcusable
to live in a world so full of the marvels of plant and animal life and to care
for none of these things.” ~ Charlotte Mason
One of the favorite parts of a Charlotte Mason education for my children is nature study. Before I even knew I was a CM homeschooler we were doing nature study! My little ones would marvel at the lady bugs in the garden, scoop earthworms off of the sidewalk to rescue them, lay in the grass and watch the clouds, study the birds every morning. They have a collections of rocks, and shells and twigs, leaves and dried flowers.
Studying nature comes so naturally to children. I love that it shows that there is a Mighty Creator and everything brings praise back to Him!
