I don’t know about you, but I NEVER took Chemistry of ANY type or form in school. I grew up in a country school without many requirements for graduating (most people were destined to be farmers, FFA was pretty popular, lol). I just did the bare minimum to graduate. That’s why I LOVE homeschooling! I get to learn too!

When my 7th grade daughter said she wanted to learn Chemistry, I will admit to being quite a bit intimidated. I am pleased to tell you that our Chemistry journey has been a joy for us both!

You may be wondering why we are doing Chemistry in 7th grade? Well, because she wants to, of course!  Oh, and because I found a great curriculum to bring it down to {our} level!

After doing Christian Kids Explore Earth and Space last year and LOVING IT, I decided we would use Christian Kids Explore Chemistry. It is geared to 4th-8th graders. While I think it could have MORE information, I like how it leaves room for you to add on your own “extras”. I love that the hands-on activities and experiments use things you can easily find in your home.

Hearts at Home Review
Christian Kids Explore Science Books use a very classical approach to teaching using a conversation style of reading, along with notebooking, a comprehensive list of resource books to use alongside the curriculum to make for a very well rounded living book. If you lean towards classical learning or even love the Charlotte Mason method of learning then this curriculum will be just perfect for you. The best thing about these aren’t just that they use a classical approach, but that they are extremely Christ centered, which is hard to find while using a classical approach, especially with a Science curriculum. You can purchase these books knowing that you will not have to filter out or explain unwanted information to your children. Read more of our review here.

Supplementing with affordable resources & printables
We were having trouble when it came to the subatomic particles and postive and negative charged elements, but I decided to hop on over to CurrClick and I purchased a supplement for $.99 that helped everything “click”  for the both of us!

When studying the Periodic Table, I purchased this item for $.99.

I love checking out CurrClick for super affordable curriculum supplements!
