There seriously are some good-old-fashioned skills that any modern kid ought to know—now. Many people I know have kids that don’t want to do a thing. I know I have said this before in posts, but while my oldest was in a dorm, she would tell me tales of kids who couldn’t even pick up after themselves. She is grateful I showed her how to fend for herself and learn skills to, well, survive on her own.
