Unlike South Carolina, South Dakota has not always been high on my list to visit. However, I have always wanted see Mount Rushmore and visit the Black Hills, so it is on our list. My kids want to visit Mount Rushmore, because it is in both the Richie Rich movie and National Treasure, lol. Hopefully we can redeem the history of it when we visit in person.

Everything you need to teach and/or learn about the great state of South Dakota. From free printables to must see places to visit, to crafts, activities and more! :: www.homeschoolgiveaways.com

Since we do plan to visit one day, we love to learn about the places we want to visit while there. This helps the kids get excited about it and even look forward to it. If you’ve never been there, you can join us as we learn about South Dakota with these great resources I have gathered. Each state has a unique history, fun facts and wonderful sites to see, so get exploring! Over the next year, I will be sharing resources – printables, travel destinations and food favorites – from each state.
