I remember the early days that I was learning about the Charlotte Mason-style of educating my children. What a revelation it was to use living books – books that are interesting and that you find a natural connection with. This makes it easy to remember information as opposed to most textbooks which are just facts upon facts lined up. (Very difficult to remember.)
I had no problem jumping on board to use living books for history, but it was almost more thrilling to learn that there were living science and math books out there too! Here is a huge list of living science books. Your children will enjoy these books and will end up learning so much more because of it. A free, printable book list is available. The books on this list are most appropriate for children in grades one through eight.
