My dear, lovely homeschool friend, (and, yes, I know you are lovely because I know that all homeschool mamas are givers which is so very lovely in my book), do you feel maxed out? Do you feel like you are giving, giving, giving with nothing to refill your own tank?
I have felt this way many a times. Sometimes I want to scream out, “I am pouring out all that I have, and it still feels like it’s not enough!”
1. May I suggest that you give yourself permission to be human.
2. Pray to your Creator, Almighty God, to help you. If you are too exhausted to find the words to form the sentences, simply cry out to Him, “Help!” He is God and knows what you need.
3. Read this list of 52 Ways to Simplify Your Life. Go easy, and if you only have time to read five or ten at a time, that’s ok! It’s not a heavy list, but read it in pieces if you have to.
4. Sleep. It’s not selfish to sleep, and I suspect that most of us mamas either feel like it is or just feel like it’s a need we can bypass to reach some goal we’ve set. That’s like trying to run a car without motor oil. Think about that for five seconds.
I wish you the best. Please take care of yourselves for you are doing Kingdom work.
