April is National Poetry Month. What a wonderful time to try your hand at writing a poem like a simple Haiku.

This is a great writing prompt for a middle or high school student. Learn exactly what a haiku poem is, and read some examples. Then you have the opportunity to create your very own haiku based on an image from nature that you love.
