Dead things {even in formaldehyde} gross me out. When my ninth grade daughter joined an Apologia Biology co-op this year, I was elated that she would be doing dissections in class, as a group, and NOT at home! Not so happy when I found out she had to store her specimens at home. I tried to get other moms to keep mine – yes, I really did!

It is just my luck that she received a bad batch (so did Sarah Shelton, LOL) and they stunk to high heaven – making my resolve crumble and my stomach rumble. Thankfully, Home Science Tools sent out another bag of dead things right away, even though I purchased it last August!

I found this today and thought it was an AMAZING idea. Might even give me the last little push to learn how to knit. I LOVE this. I imagine this woman, who sells them, would make a killing at a homeschool craft fair! Click here to go to her website and read all about it! Here is her Etsy store. You can buy the patterns, knitted “specimens,” or a DIY kit. Her store is called “aKNITomy ” – isn’t that so awesome?

She has a lot of different options, as well as DIY kits, pdf patterns, and even the fully knitted products (those are a bit pricey.)
